Lyrics
Song Of Remembrance
©2009 Tom Eure / BMI
As we wipe back the layers of dust from the shelf
Familiar eyes in a photo revealed
There the same eyes you see in the mirror each day
And your child’s face when quit and still
I may never stand on that far away shore
But the thought of it fills me with pride
We’ll do well to sing songs of remembrance today
That honer our ancestors lives
It was trouble and hardship that brought them here
So brave on a journey so grand
Left all that they knew for the promises of hope
But there hearts held deer the homeland
I may never stand on that far away shore
But the thought of it fills me with pride
We’ll do well to sing songs of remembrance today
That honer our ancestors lives
As my son hears a story on grandfathers knee
That in my family is oh so well known
I’m reminded of places that I’ve never seen
But there memory lives deep in my bones
I may never stand on that far away shore
But the thought of it fills me with pride
We’ll do well to sing songs of remembrance today
That honer our ancestors lives
As we wipe back the layers of dust from the shelf
Familiar eyes in a photo revealed
There the same eyes you see in the mirror each day
And your child’s face when quit and still
